Flip the screen on my laptop horizontally?
« on: December 14, 2009, 12:18:58 am »
Hey guys,

I'm REALLY hoping to be able to use my laptop for an arcade setup that utilizes a mirror like the Omega cabinets, so I need to be able to flip the screen horizontally.  I also want to be able to use the computer to browse the web and do other basic tasks, so simply relying on mame's ability to flip the screen isn't an option for me.  I've been searching for the past few hours and haven't found any working solutions yet.

The onboard graphics card is an "ATI Mobility Radeon X600" and I've tried messing with ATI's Catalyst software, but it only allows for screen rotation and not actual screen flipping.  Are there any software / driver solutions that I could use to solve this problem?  Are there any hardware options like the yoke wire switching that is used on older monitors?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So once again, we find that evil of the past seeps into the present like salad dressing through cheap wax paper, mixing memory and desire.

I just checked both of my Nvidia chipsetted machines, and they only offer rotate as well. You may have to consider making your cab (I am assuming you are doing it from scratch) using a "periscope" style mirror system, instead of the single mirror you are using.
--- Yes I AM doing this on purpose, and yes I DO realize it is pissing you off.
