Best free plans available?
« on: December 10, 2009, 12:22:15 pm »
I have my MAME set up inside an NFL Blitz cabinet and it works perfectly, but my brother has been running his with a control panel only for about a year and a half now. For Christmas I thought I'd do all the dirty work of building him a cabinet, but I've had a hard time finding good, free plans. It's a 2-player setup, so it doesn't need to be a monster or anything. I was kind of looking for something very similar to knievel's famous Neon Mame, but just can't seem to pin down a source.

So what are the best free plans out there, and where do I get them?  ;D

I've been running into countless dead links in this hunt, have I just missed a site that conveniently stores a bunch of plans?

You should check out Craigslist for a cheap cabinet and retrofit it. Would probably be cheaper and easier.

The only problem with the retrofit is that they don't account for stuff like the monitor shelf, keyboard drawer, etc.

In the end I'll probably just design my own, but I figured I'd just throw it out there to see if anybody had any sources handy.

Zorg and I (and saint IIRC) have Jake's plans mirrored from the last vanishing.

Here is my mirror, which includes the showcase plans.
