Convert USB TurboTwist 2 to PS2?

Hi guys

Don't know if this is even possible but thought I'd ask.

I bought a couple of TurboTwist 2's (master and slave on the same board) with USB interface. They are working fine. My mobo supports wake on mouse but only PS2 mouse. I'd like to bring up the machine by spinning a spinner (ideally I'd like to do it by spinning my trackball but my Optipac is not compatible with PS2). I have attached a green USB-PS2 adapter on the end of the cable and brought the machine up with it plugged into the mouse port. The spinners work fine but when I come to shutting the machine down it switches off the hard drives (you can hear them stop spinning) but the display just sits at "Windows is shutting down" and you have to hold the power button to force it down. With the TT2 interface board attached via USB it goes down elegantly but obviously I can't wake the machine like that.

Is the USB interface board for the TT2's PS2 compatible? Is there another cable I need to get to plug it into the back of the box? Or is it a totally different interface board that attaches via PS2 I need to buy?

I have mailed Randy this question but he's unfortunately been too busy.

Have you tried one of those USB to PS2 adapters that come when you buy USB mice?  (Or they used to, at least.)

That would be a quick fix if it worked.

Yeah I tried that - the spinners work but the machine doesn't power down properly on shutdown.

I've had that problem with other devices in the past.  In my case, there was something wrong with how that device was set up in Windows.  When I went to the Device Manager, I could see a yellow exclamation point next to the device.  Might be worth a check anyway...
