Looking for a good Mame Front-End compatible with Windows Vista
« on: December 04, 2009, 10:36:40 pm »
Hello fellow gamers. I have a question? I'm looking for a good Mame Front-End compatible with Windows Vista with alot of great features. I like Ultracade but it seem to not work with Windows Vistas. Can someone help me out or suggest a good front-end? Thanks.

Mala's a very popular front end that works fine on Vista.

That's what I've been using for some time now.

If you like Ultracade then you need to check out HyperSpin.  It works fine with Vista and has some nice features.  The next version is going to be coming out in the very near future and will really blow everyone away with features.  It's not the easiest Front End to set up, but it's by far the prettiest front end and most arcade looking front end there is.

I can't get to the hyperspin page to check it out.  Not sure if it's an issue on my end or not.

Decided to nerd out and figure out what was up.  Appears to be hosted by, or at least using the DNS servers for emumovies.com.  Currently down.  Will check it out later I suppose.'

Decided to check some youtube videos out.  Hope the site is back up soon. I really want to use that.

Edit: It's back up, excellent.

You might like GameEx as well.  You didn't mention what features you wanted specifically, but it has a lot of different ones for different purposes.

Maximo G+ blows all other frontends out of the water.

Old, but not obsolete.

I use Hyperspin.   Maximo G+ Is okay but the 360 emulation needs a lot of work, can't play Halo 3 with that frame-rate.
