Try your local next day signs or vinyl graphics sign shop.
They can print on an assortment of materials, and cut the holes etc...
Most vinyl require a smooth non porous surface to adhere to.
However, they can also print on some plastics/lexans (extremely thin) for instrumentation panels, guage faces, etc... all with the ability to be back lit.
Most sign shops have small format printers (some use a gerber edge thermal heat process, others inkjet with a laminate) and can cater to small runs/prototyping as easily as the larger volume orders.
Don't blame me when you see all the different materials they have and come back with a gazillion new ideas.
