identify this game board
« on: December 02, 2009, 04:00:55 pm »
dont realy know where to ask this so here gos.

bought a table top machine, its a pcman and its got a 2 board set.

there are no identifying names on it (as i know pacman is namco) and its definately not jamma, the connector is too small.

i took a pic of this little board which is socketed to the top board:

without me taking pics of the whole board set what is that as i am thinking that its like a multi game board of some type and thats the game rom or something that you can remove and change to another game.

is it or does anyone know what this is?

i done loads of googling and cant seem to get an answer.

thanks.

I am not as knowledgeable as most on here, but with out seeing the whole board I cant ID it. There is usually a model number or board number some where on the board. There are great board ID files at www.mikesarcade.com. Go to the wiretap archives and start searching. I have ID'd alot of boards that way.

thats just it,all the board has on it is:g-gb-1

rather than be lazy i took the board set out and took pics.

here:

cos it would be nice to know exactly what system setup it is and if what i got inside the tabletop can be used for other games.its a uk tabletop by the way, like a taito space invaders type but,its like a clone one that was churned out to cash in on the table top market in the 70's and 80's.

if you look at the first pic,on the top left you can see a little board is sitting in a socket,i was wandering if this is like a game rom and can be changed to another game?

when i google the serial thats on the board i cant seem to get anything thrown up with regards arcade boards.

thanks.
:)

its def a bootleg as it dont have namco branding or any other manufacturer who might be involved with them who produce boards on the boards.but,it is not a jamma eiother, the connections are wrong (look at pics) and they are way undersize for jamma connector.

this is why i am trying to at least identify the type of sustem (would that be the correct term?) that it uses in case i might like to swap the board to another type.as i have a table top in my collection now asnd it would be nice if i could swap out the gamnes from time to time as i think some games play great on table top than upright, galaga, galaxiam, moon cresta comes to mind.

thanks.
