Video Poker Machine
« on: December 02, 2009, 12:58:06 pm »
I've been lurking here and studying for quite a while and have some questions.  I bought a touch screen on e-bay and planned on making a wall mounted jukebox with it.  The more I think about it the more I also want to include a Video Poker setup on it.  My questions are:

1.  Has anyone done a video poker machine and if so what are you using for software?

2.  Does MAME emulate any versions of video poker?  If so where do I get the roms?

3.  I see guys online selling DVDs with the roms on them.  Is this the best way of obtaining these?

Being my first post, if the questions about the roms are out of line with the board rules feel free to delete that portion of my questions. I just can't seem to find the best way of getting current versions of the roms.

They are. Check Rule 5.

As for video poker, I believe a lot of people just use the PC software rather than emulation. There are some casino type games emulated in MAME, but they are very... "arcadey".

I would like to build a bartop type box.  When I play at the casino you can do the video poker either by touch screen or the buttons.  If I do the PC based game how do I get the buttons to work?

Sorry for the noob questions but I am brand new to all of this.

Use a keyboard encoder:

Ipac from ultimarc.com
or
Key-Wiz from groovygamegear.com
