More Mamewah issues
« on: November 29, 2009, 11:04:20 pm »
So I have the latest Mame 32 and the latest Mamewah. Each is sharing the exact same rom directory. Problem is that I can run Marvel Super heroes vs. Street Fighter and also Marvel vs Capcom both on Mame32 no problem. I go to run the same roms from my Mamewah menu and they won't load. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

1. You shouldn't run MAMEUI 32 through Mamewah. Get a normal command line MAME version.

2. Have you set up Mamewah to point to your roms? (directory in the INI, generate list, etc)

Yes I do have Mame 135 command line which is what Mamewah is using. I also have Mame 32 but its completely separate from mamewah.

The roms are pointed to the right directory and most of them are working through Mamewah, but a handful of them aren't even though they work fine in Mame32.

EDIT: So I tried running Marvel vs Capcom with Mame 32 and then just the Mame command line. Mame 32 will run it but Mame command line won't, it says:

mvse.03a NOT FOUND
mvse.04a NOT FOUND
ERROR: required files are missing, the game cannot be run.

So I guess this isn't a mamewah issue at all. Does anyone know the difference between Mame .135 and Mameui132?

EDIT AGAIN:  After some monkeying around it turns out to just be missing clones, still seems kind of odd though.

You're running two different versions of MAME, so the roms don't match. Get the correct roms for your version.
