L2 cache/new processor/MAME

So I was wondering how much difference the amount of on CPU cache will make with MAME if any? Its a question of getting more or less? 2MB, 3MB, or even 6MB? Or if is it all FSB and pure GHZ?  Assume whatever I get will be OC'd to 4GHZ and will be a C2D as I have a mATX motherboard (LGA 775) on the way.

In my tests it really dosent seem to matter, I have even run it better on celeron 3.0 than on pentium 4 2.4 so it just seems that it likes pure MHZ when it come to mame, now some of the others like afterburn and such do better with the bigger caches.
Just my opinion. Now going with 64bit does make a big difference.
Best of the Best of the Best. Sir!

I bit the bullet last night and ordered a E6300 wolfdale, Cooler Master V8, and a some corsair ram. I did read that I can bump it to
4ghz with the right setup on air. Hopefully, not wishful thinking...I want to play the gauntlets and the street fighters. Current
system is very jumpy.
