CP Viewer - Can't set up successfully
« on: November 25, 2009, 11:51:53 pm »
Hey all, I'm working on my first MAME arcade from an old TMNT cab.  I apologize in advance bec. I am a complete noob at this stuff but I have been learning as I go thanks to this site.  I have mamep installed and setup with everything ready to go.  I have Mala installed and setup up for now.  I have installed CP Viewer (CPV2) and have been in the process of setting it up for the past few days but now I'm lost.  I've followed the cpv2 manual and everything has worked fine until I tried to setup this step:

" cpv2.exe –s
this Will run a batch job that creates snaps off all the Mame games and clones that are currently documented
in the controls.ini file. This process will take approximately 20 minutes to complete."

When I do this I get an error box that pops up that reads: "Run-time error '9': Subscript out of range" and then no CP appears.  I don't know why this is happening.  I don't think I missed any steps but would greatly appreciate some advice on what to do from here?  What would cause that error?  Should I try reinstalling and setting up CPV2?  HELP!
Thanks!

Is the controls.ini file available for cpv2 to read from?

Yeah, it's saved in the general cpv2 folder.
