Ms Pacman/galaga 4-way + OSCAR 2-way restrictor = good?

Everyone tells me that this joystick is the best for 4-way games. Is it equally good for 2-way games, using this setup?

I know this sounds like an obvious question, but I'd just feel better if I got a recommendation from someone with first-hand playing experience.

I have this joystick and it works great for 4-way and 2-way.  Let's say galaga: you can flip back and forth easily enough without accidentally travelling north or south on the stick.  It also helps that the throw on this thing is tiny (compared to a comp or super for instance).

Obvioulsy, nothing is ever going to be as cool as a dedicated 2-way, but who has that much room on the CP?

EDIT:  oops I didn't see the "+ Oscar 2 way restrictor".  I don't use that, but I don't think you really need it, IMHO.
