Logitech USB Dual Action Controller hack for MAME
« on: November 21, 2009, 03:17:15 pm »
Hi everyone.

I'm a newbie to the forums (my first post), and have a question:

Has anyone successfully hacked a Logitech USB Dual Action Controller, for use with MAME, or in a MAME cabinet?

I've searched the Internet on this topic, and came up empty handed.  :-\  So I've decided to tackle the project myself!  ;D

If this hack has been done previously, can someone point me where I can find the info on the hack?  (I'm using the Logitech controllers for my project, just 'cause I have them laying around.)

Any information is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi everyone.

I figured the key mapping, and solder points out for this hack, with the help of my trusty multimeter.  ;D

More info, instructions, and photos to follow soon!

EDIT:  Ran into a small problem with "blocking" of key input, when the 1,2 or 9,10 keys are pressed at the same time.  :banghead:

Didn't discover the problem, until I was playing Street Fighter, using a mocked up control panel.

Still researching problem.  Will update soon.  :banghead:
