Need Advice. Been 8 yrs since on the site. Alot has changed.

I am determine to finish my cabinet again or I will toss the cabinet.  I just pulled my double dragon cabinet out of the garage, after 8 yrs (wife corrected me).   It worked at one time but the montior and computer went out years ago.  I have the 2 Hagstorms (I toss my other cabinet last year for a case of beer.)

I think I will buy a 19 inch LCD and go that route for the monitor.  Any advice for encoder.   The Hagstorm back then was a pain to setup and it is old school serial port output.  What is the easier encoder to use?   I want to a plug and play situation.  

My buttons are set up already with the board ready to go.

It feels good to see the forum is the same, same old questions.  

One good thing waiting until now is everything is cheaper.

well depending on how youre gonna wire it, either an IPAC or a JPAC. I only say JPAC because you can use the esiting wiring (if its a JAMMA cab) other wise an IPAC or Gwiz encodrer will do. everythings PS2/USB nowadays
