Rotating Ads
« on: November 19, 2009, 01:24:59 pm »
There's an issue with the height of the rotating ads at the top of the forum.  One ad is shorter than the other, so it moves everything below it (all the forums) up and down a bit as it cycles.

It's not a huge deal, but it's a little pesky.  Would be great to specify the height of that area rather than having it morph based on the ad banners.  Should be easy to do.

Hm. Happening to anyone else? I make the ad banners the same size to avoid that. Will check.

I'm using Firefox 3.5.5 with Adblock Plus 1.1.1 and haven't had any issues.  Often, I don't even see the ads.

I allow them on BYOAC though.   ;)

That's why I said that they looked fine for me.

It used to be worse before the first time you fixed it.  Then it was so bad you'd go to click on one subforum and end up in another because they were jumping around.  Now it only moves maybe 1-2 rows at a time and not with every ad change like it used to.

I think it had something to do with one of the ads- the red X-Arcade ad specifically- which made it jump a couple lines.

Looks good now.

Yeah - the X-Arcade adds were adding an extra CR/LF sequence on their ads. Actually couldn't figure out why (it links to their site so they have some code going on) so I just added an extra CR/LF to the other ads. :)
