Using Mala as a media center
« on: November 18, 2009, 02:28:35 pm »
Hi, looking for some help with video playback from a list of files. Let me explain;

I have some avi files, episodes from box-sets that I ripped to the hard drive, I would like to be able to use mala to scroll trough the files and play them back in full screen, when finished, exiting back to the mala list.

I have tried setting up a list as other emu, and all I can get is the episode list but no playback', error 98 or 02 depending on the setting in the other emu setup dialog.
I am using media-center classic from the K-lite codec pack as my default video player.

It's OK if this is not possible, can't have everything and mala already dose so much, what other options are recommended?
If this works and it's just my stupid thats holding things up, is it further possible to have the list refresh on mala startup?. That way whatever is on a big usb key would be automatically listed as the video options.

This has nothing to do with mala video playback as part of the front end, that's sorted fine. This is  launching an avi file as if it were a game or mp3 file.

I've tried this, and what happens with apparently regular path settings an all is it brings up WMP, and they play in that. I guess that's fine, if it will automatically make it full screen, but I don't know whether you can set options for the exe to do this, nor what options would work.
