display question??
« on: November 16, 2009, 04:02:31 pm »
I have an APEX 24" CRT TV that i've plugged my computer in with an S-Video cable.

As you can see by the pictures, it crops a small section of the top of the screen...(you can only see half or less of the player 1 and player 2 text.

Is there something in the mame ini that i can do to fix this issue?, cuz i can't make an adjustment on the television.

I believe that's called overscan, but it could be that the game was played on a slightly different shaped monitor?  You can always adjust the stretch setting in MAME so that it keeps the image size within your display.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Your APEX has a hidden operator menu that will allow you to adjust the display. Search Google for it.

Depending on the video card you're using, it might have an option to adjust overscan. If not, you'll need to "code" to get into the service menu and adjust there. The service menu is a dangerous place to be if you don't know what you're doing...
