Red,
I wish I could honestly answer, but I can't - if this league gets started, it will be the first one I've been a part of since joining up. My knee-jerk response would be to say yes it would be similar to the NFL league you speak of...because we are currently able to upload full box scores of hockey games vs. the computer to the 2ksports site and blog on them if we wish...and all of the data is there. Likewise, when I look at the league's home pages, the stats section is ridiculous.
I will also say honestly that I've heard through repeated readings that apparently 2K has had some server issues with the leagues but apparently those are / have been cleared up. Right now, myself and several others just are looking to get a league together and have a little fun.
I'm no expert at the game, in fact I've only won one game against the computer so far, and that was by heavy tinkering of the sliders. However, being an EA sports fanatic, I have been incredibly impressed with what 2K has done with this hockey version. Perfect, no, but FAR better than I expected. Used to be on the SEGA system (Genesis) if you could circle behind the net, you could score every time (or at least I could). Not with this....only time I've had that easy a goal is when I've been out on a breakaway....otherwise, I have to honestly look to try and set up a great scoring opportunity - which, depending on what team you play, can be harder than you think.
Last time I looked we had about 6 openings left - come on and join us if you can!
