Can anyone running a HAPPS tracball possibly help me out by letting me know what the mame.ini settings are for the controls on your machine? something isn't quite right with mine as i can use the friggin tracball all the way through picking the game off my Maximus frontend. once in the tracball games, I can't use it and i'm dying over here.

This is literally the last bug i need to work out of my control panel.....HELP!!!??????

First make sure you have:
mouse                     1
in your mame.ini file.  If you have more than 1 trackball or mouse hooked up to the computer you will need:
multimouse                1

With those two, you should be able to use the trackball in Mame.  You may need to adjust the sensitivity of course but they should be working in Mame with those 2 enabled.

I don't want to sound like an ass here, but I don't know why you decided to make a new thread on this when you're asking EXACTLY the same as the one you started a couple of days ago. Half an hour after after saying it still wasn't working! There were people in there helping you, including myself, though I wasn't around yesterday to help you further. It was moving in the right direction.

That said, if you have another pointing device attached, JustMichael has probably nailed your problem.

Thanks JustMichael for the response. So as far as the multimouse 1 thing you were talking about....is that something that I type into the mame.ini and create? In my mame.ini I have this

(copied from the file)

mouse 1
joystick 0
a2d 0.3
steadykey 0
lightgun 0
dual_lightgun 0
offscreen_reload 0
paddle joystick
adstick joystick
trackball mouse 1

There is no line for multi mouse?

Ok next question:
Out of the 2 billion versions of Mame, which one are you using?  Version number would help a lot.  I am just wondering if that copy of Mame isn't recent enough to support multiple mice...

(Yes I know they don't have 2 billion versions of Mame, yet...)

Sorry, I am running mame32

If that's not a good enough version to support multiple mouses, Is there is a better version that i can run that won't require me to change a bunch of stuff?

Since you say you are using Mame32, I am guessing you mean the version of Mame that is now called MameUI (was called Mame32).  Newer versions of MameUI can be found at http://www.mameui.info/.
