look for screws at the top holding the plate on.

behind it will be a light of some sort.. probably florescent, it should come one when ever the game is on, so chances are the bulb is burnt out and needs replaced.. shouldn't have to do anything special to get it to come on.
Anyone got change for a dollar?
PLEASE HELP NEED Fastmame .70 and .9* releases

A dedicated Neo Geo cabinet uses electroluminescent panels to light up the individual "mini-marquees". Quite frequently the panel itself goes bad or gets very weak. There is a driver board that powers those panels located in the marquee area. The cabinet should have a National Cabinet Lock Company key # C-413A to unlock the swing down retainer to access the marquee area.

Here's the lock manufacturer's site:

Here's the catalog. Page 12 has the standard locks and keys used on coin operated games:

First off congrats on the Neo restore.

Mr. Layton is correct EXCEPT there are many different models of the 4 slot cab. I have the smaller 4 slot version. The version you have does need the panels and I happen to have the EL panels you need.  I pulled them off of a cab that had water damage to the cab, but the components (LED credit panels, memory card reader etc. all work fine. As for the EL panels you need I haven't been able to test them but if your interested in buying them I will get them tested.LMK I haven't seen a complete EL panel sell so I'd imagine they are pretty pricey but sinceI have no need for them I would be willing to sell them fairly cheap with the wiring and the power board.
