I had this idea to install my LED bar behind my cardboard bezel, so only the LEDs would poke through. So I did, and here's how it turned out.
My bezel is home-made from cardboard, and spray-painted black. The wood frame around the bezel is where my artwork will go some day (hopefully soon).

So I flipped over the bezel and marked the center. Then I drew a horizontal line and marked the LED positions.

I used a cordless drill to make the holes in the cardboard, since I didn't have a hole punch small enough. I put a wood block behind the bezel and drilled from the back. There was a lot of cardboard showing, so I tried to clean it up a bit with an exacto, and then I shot another couple of coats of spray paint over them holes again. This is where I messed up, really. In my haste (and excitement to get this thing installed) I sprayed the paint too think and it dripped. And it was cold out. And dark. And I was not very patient about it. So I tried to clean it off and reapply, but you know how that goes.
But the LEDs stick through perfectly, and since they are smoked dark gray in color, you hardly notice them.

But you do notice the jacked up paint job around them. Meh. Trying to save 5 minutes will cost me at least an hour to make a new bezel. How many times in life will I have to re-learn that lesson?
More to follow with the AimTrak sensor installation into some ActLabs, and then some video calibration goodness.
