What type coin door is this?
« on: October 06, 2009, 12:22:48 pm »
Ok...Im having a hard time trying to find anything dealing with Universal brand cabs...
I'm cleaning up the coin door and i just want to find more information on this particular brand/model...
Can anybody tell me where i can find the info?

I made a drawing of the coin door...I know its not a Midway door...It has 'UNIVERSAL" etched in the center...

It blows my mind how everbody here can look at a cab and tell what make /model/manufactuer it is...

2nd question....I also have come across a space invaders 2 cocktail....it is missing the coin door  (it was rigged for freeplay) The coin door is smaller than your average coin door ( about the size of a hand) Can anybody tell me where I can find a type that size?

Manufacturer stickers and stamps might be found on the other side if you look.
NO MORE!!

Probably from a dedicated Universal "Lady Bug" cabinet.

ha ha ha.....real funny guys...( I knew I was going to get this)...

I looked on the back of it and there was nothing on the back...

I'm just trying to find more info on it...schematics, placements of coin mechs...etc...

The one I have, some of the wiring is missing (lamp holders...etc)

I want to restore it...but if I cant, then i guess i'm going to have to rig it for some type of free play...

You might find something in the manual for the cab.  Have you tried searching for "universal" on KLOV?

I did a couple of weeks ago....I looked at Ladybug and Mr Do...Ladybug just had the major shematics ( which I cant understand anyway)...and the Mr DO...had everything except the coin door...
Tried doing searches on Google and all i get is "a universal ( everyday) coin door.

Universal "Space Panic" had this door on some cabinets. See this KLOV listing and scroll down the pictures:

The coin door parts list is here:

We had a few Space Panics on our route back in the day. I remember the metal in the coin door was very soft and bent easily plus the hardware is all metric.
