Custom Cocktail Control Panels - Where to have printed?
« on: October 05, 2009, 01:04:17 pm »
I am getting ready to start construction on a Galaxian MAME cocktail cabinet.  I know Arcadeshop.com has them, but the holes are for the original setup using paddles, which are set too high for a joystick configuration.  I have a high resolution image of the CP that I could burn to disk and have a print shop do it for me, but I have a few questions.

1) What do I tell them to print them on?

2) Who should I get to do the work?  I want to have it original, except for the hole for the joystick, which maens I want the "1979 Midway MFG. CO." on them.

If all else fails, I guess I can change gears and use a Galaga scheme, as I already have a set of Galaga CPs that are very nice.  I'd just have to round out the holes on them.

Thoughts, concerns?

Thanks guys!

I used mameMarquees:

they print your art on tough vinyl, and it looks fantastic.

not so great shot, but you get the idea:

ok, can't quite figure out if you're looking for overlays or CPs made, or both.
I used a blank CP, drilled my own holes where I wanted them, then scanned the CPs and built artwork around the holes, so it would fit over the top perfectly.

I'm talking about the actual control panel overlays.  The Galaga ones that I have are a thick adhesive-backed plastic material that are OEM quality.  I'd like to have the same thing, except I'd want them to be Galaxian without the "paddle/joystick" holes stamped into them.

yeah, then go with mamemarquees.
the vinyl may not be quite as thick, but you'll fall in love with them once you get your CPs finished.  You can do any art you want, any text you want, any colors you want.
