Syncing problem on my replacement Nanao Monitor...
« on: October 04, 2009, 05:31:29 pm »
Got a replacement monitor for my Astro the other day. It came from a Sega Model 3 Virtua Striker 2 cabinet... I saw it working. However, when I got it home, there was a syncing problem... :dunno

It's Nanao. I checked to see that the wiring was correct...seems to be but confirmation would be nice... Red to red, green to green, blue to blue (RGB), blue to grey (is this right?), white to white (Sync), black to pink, black to light blue (Power), red to red, red to red (Degauss).

Wondering whether there is anything pot wise I can look at to sort this out? Or whether anyone has any other suggestions as to what might be causing this problem.

The picture is fairly still - it's not flashing or rolling particularly - it's just garbled.

Any help would be very much gratefully received!

the Hfreq is too high .

found a manual for a "kit "  http://www.segaarcade.com/pdfs/virtuastriker2/vs2-kit-manual.pdf

page 17 has a dip setting to change  drive frequency  (15/31khz)

have a look .... your "astro" is likely set for 15khz .   nanao model ???

and pse don't slap me .., as i am a ham ( Amateur Radio Operator)   ;D

Thanks for that... just been given the same suggestion elsewhere... the jumper likely set to 24khz and as you said, it really needs to be set to 15khz... I will try swapping the jumper over tomorrow and see if that does the trick... fingers cross!
