*We have a winner! The 2010 BYOAC Token Design Poll - Front*

I am really sorry for the delays in getting the polls up.  Life's been hectic, thanks for your patience.

I will leave them open until October 16th, and a few days after that I will begin preorders.  If there is enough demand we will order, and I hope to have the tokens ready for shipping before the Christmas Holiday.

    • My Arcade (updated 1/30/13)
If you're skipping 2008, why not also skip 2009 and just do 2010 tokens? Seems like it makes more sense to me to do tokens for the coming year, not the prior year.
My Collection: Mame cab, 38 dedicated vids, pin, skeeball, coin op air hockey table, Ice Cold Beer, Megatouch, 2 token machines, and payphone (VAPS, pics at Arcade Crusade)

So far each year they've come out at the end of the year for the year just finishing, no? I'm easy either way, but I'd be fine with these being the 2009 tokens.

From a sales perspective, I might get more buyers next year if they are buying 'current' tokens versus old ones.  It's not a bad idea to be slightly ahead of the calendar year like the car manufacturers.  You are right that it's not consistent with previous years, but this is a good time to change things.  By the time these are minted it will will only be 2009 for a month or two.  :)

  • This is better than Disney Land man!
I voted for dstone, but the font seems out of place.  Just my opinion though.
Galaga... Was there any other game?

They should definitely be named/dated for the coming year, especially if there is a big delay like there was this time round that makes them further out of date. Think along game titles too - FIFA '09 came out in '08, and other such instances. As long as they are not ridiculously early like some CD compilations. I remember a CD coming out in early Spring 2006 that was something like 'R'n B Summer Jams 2007'. 18 months is a piss-take.

I also voted dstone, however the alien should look like the fighter, i.e. flat instead of "sort of isometric 3D depth".

I voted for the one with the girl on it. Because... there... was.. a girl.. on .. it...
but the Bstone one looks cool too and will prolly be the winner...

If you are doing a 2010 BYOAC token,  why are there no 2010 (the movie) themed tokens?

Because the designs are from 2008/9.

The idea is a good one, though.

Went with Dstone, but next year we should do a copy of the Flynn's Arcade\Tron 2 token...

Congratulations to Dstone for winning both sides!!

I should be able to start taking preorders within a week, I just have a bug I need to squash in the PHP shipping code on the site first.

Thanks to all the Artists!!

Thanks for picking this back up, Santoro.

May I suggest that if RL is too hectic to keep up that we dig into older versions to either fill the gap in years or for next year?  We have so many really great designs now it would be a crime if so many went unmade just because they lost by a few votes that particular year.

I am still here.  Web site is fixed.  I am working on getting the images 'blinged' for the order page.  If I can't get it done by Sunday night I will start the preorders with the black and white pics.
