Monitor bezel alternative for Pac-Man style cocktail?
« on: July 14, 2003, 06:16:00 pm »
I'm pretty much finished with this ArcadeDepot cocktail cabinet. All it really needs is a bezel to cover-up the wood around the monitor. I put some black card around the monitor (it's an 18/19" WG D9100, which I'm told won't take a standard 19" bezel) to cover up the monitors mounting, but now I'm stuck.

Here's what it looks like:

Should I chance it and order a 19" bezel? Or is there an alternative that I could rig up with a trip to Home Depot?

Here's the bezel I'm thinking of:

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid that whoever told you a standard 19" Happ bezel doesn't fit a W-G 9100 misled you.  It fits perfect, I didn't have to trim the interior a bit and the curvature fits snug, too.

A bit more info specific to the installation of the bezel, not necessarily the monitor.

The outside edges of the bezel are supposed to be trimmed so it will fit within the routed ledge around the monitor opening.  Next the correct step for a real Pac cocktail would be to trim down a piece of smoked plexi the same size as the bezel so the plexi lays right in the routed portion and sits flush with the top panel.  Next the artwork underlay, and finally the 1/4" glass on top of everything.

Thanks for the info Oscar. I'll be ordering a couple of 19" bezels as soon as I find somwhere that doesn't charge ridiculous shipping like Happ does.
