Mala 162g can't scan MAME 133?
« on: September 13, 2009, 09:47:20 am »
I've been running Mala 162g for months now, most recently with MAME 130.  I recently upgraded to MAME 133, but when I refreshed the main MAME game list, Mala crashed.  I even tried a "fresh" install of Mala 162g in a new directory (starting with Mala 105 and copying in the Mala 162g executable) and still get the same crash.

As a workaround, I've found that I can run Mala 105 (because the executable is still in my Mala 162g directory) and run the MAME scan on MAME 133.  I can then run Mala 162g with no other issues (as long as I don't refresh the main MAME game list!)

Anybody else see this problem?  In case it matters, I compile my MAME builds using MrDo's instructions and apply the "No Nag" patch posted in the software forum from this website.   I'm running WinXP on a Pentium 4.

I can do more "back to back" tests and post log files if Loadman wants more debugging info.

Here's the log file I got after my "fresh install" of Mala 162g crashed while loading the main game list for MAME 133.  I believe there are two sets of error codes in this log because I ran Mala again after it crashed and tried to rescan MAME (and got another crash).

It looks like the errors are related to 'ntdll.dll'.

As I said in my previous post, after I scanned MAME with Mala 105, I've had no other serious issues with Mala 162g.
