Pretty nice, but a bit too long for my taste.  Originally I made one that was WAY too long and the guys here suggested that I chop it down.  It was really good advice and I'm glad that I chopped it down.

Here's my final product:

I also produced a new and longer one, but it was originally meant for the intro for RetrowareTV's show, so I left it "as is".

Wow,

Mr. Delusional,  :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:  I have follwed your cab updates for awhile, way out of my league as I am new to this hobby.....

Thanks for the advice.....

I figured I would get a few ..Way too long responses.. I just had a vision and threw it together overnight.  I will probably cut the beginning off up to the part where the machine rises from the bottom.

I created this one for unveiling purposes, you know you have to give it more pop the first time you show it to someone, when all the hoorah dies down, I will create some thing more reasonable for the powerup.
Your machine is something else.....  :burgerking: of the hill

Question, what program are you using to create your videos?

I use a combination of Photoshop, After Effects and Vegas Video.

I understand about the unveiling part.  I did the same thing with my first.  But I left the video truncated as it is today.  The only thing I did was not allow any button presses so whomever turned it on had to sit through it.  LOL.  But I've since allowed any button to escape the intro.   :applaud:

Hey, VERY NICE vid. What front end is that. I'm using Mala now, but that seems WAAAAY slicker.

Yeah i figured you were using after effects in there somewhere, the camera panning is pretty slick....I have the program but have no clue how to use it....Tutorials for me I guess...

I'm on edge about maximus, it looks really good.  Using mala now..guess since i'm building this cab, anything i can get for free is a plus.....

Ok im goin nuts here. I wanna add a short intro video, but i have NO editing skills. Can anyone provide links to either a system generic intro or at LEAST one with a maximus arcade logo.

I have an idea for one but I need to read more on how to get Mugen up and running. My cab was a dedicated Marvel Superheroes, and my idea is to have the arcade power on and show the attract mode of that game, then lightning strike a character and turn it into a character from a different fighter on the same stage doing a special move, then lightning hits the other character and during the flash changes them to someone else, and have the screen explode and say "MAME" with the lightening traveling around like Delusional's. Something for me to try and chew on anyway.

Although I shirk at the concept of having a video for the MAME/frontend startup, it can be powerful. I think the best balance is in Impact VS Duration. The best "startup video/audio" I have ever seen is the Sega Megadrive/Genesis "SEGA" logo with the very simple "SEGA" chorus audio. That sort of thing fits the bill perfectly. If you can match the "Impact VS Duration" that sega did you will have the perfect pre-vid in my humble opinion.

I'm bringing this topic back to life, if only to see what other people might be using for their startup videos.  For me, I found two vids online which exemplify the gaming culture somewhat, and I've always loved both of them.  That being said, they might not be 'acceptable' startup material, but I think they're impressive nonetheless.  I'm sure many of you have likely seen one (or both) of them at some time or another.

I like them for random startups, and since you might be talking to buddies or otherwise busy while starting up, they might be just the thing to add more 'wow'... ...especially since I don't have any experience editing together my own videos.
