how does one print a tiled graphic.

Why would you want to?  I hope not to put in your cabinet. I think that would look really bad if you taped them all to gether.

Yep, taping several sheets together will look like ass. You'll inevitably have some overlap, which will be painfully visible when you illuminate it. Get some banner paper... it's basically 8.5" x 11" paper with each sheet joined to the next with fine perforations.

Two ways to do it:

1) Print it out on more than sheet of paper BUT make the individual pages seperate images and make the images overlap each other buy about 1/4 of an inch.  Then line up the overlapping images and take a straight edge and a VERY sharp exacto knife and cut in the middle of the overlap area.  This will trim off the right amount off each page and the edges will line up perfectly without a gap.

2)  Go to Kinkos and have them print it out on a large media printer.  I cost me about $9.00 to print out mine.  (dont have them laminate it though, it will look like crap..all washed out)

I'm planning on doing something in glowire on my cabinet.  probably not as much detail as the following pic but it's a start (artist rendition [hehe, called myself an artist])

I'm looking to get images printed out for my cabinet too. I need them all, a marquee, bezel and side art. But unlike you I can get them printed on a proper printer for free. ie: lightjet and arizona. But I would suggest to call a local printing company to get them printed they will look much better. It should be reasonable if you set the image up correctly for the printer. Don't go with kinkos they do crappy printing. You want good images printed on vinyl. It last may longer. And for a marquee you need someone with a printer like a light jet so they can do back lit images.

In Photoshop, you would set guides at whatever interval you can print (like 8 x 10.5) then turn on "snap to guides" then use the marquee select tool to select one "panel". The print dialog has  a "selection" radio button.

Then you just trim it and glue it. I make tiled maps sometimes.

Epson Panoramic Photo Paper - 8.3 x 23.4 inches

You should be able to get it at any large computer store.

There are several programs out there that will print posters, the one i use is actaully called "poster printery"

I like this one becuase you can set the size and see how many sheets you will use.

You can make great side art with this and good photo paper, and some skill in cutting. I used this for my control panel overlay (which is under plexi) and it turned out excellent. I also used it for my Marque, but i agree, i cut them and actually glued the edges of the paper together ( not overlapped, that actual little paper thin edge, to another paper thin edge) and you can still see the line where they are glued, banner paper is in the future.  but for overlays, or sideart, with a little bit of skill it could look great.
