gorgeous purple cab -- remember it?
« on: July 13, 2003, 08:29:29 pm »
Here's an odd one.

I remember months ago, someone posted pictures of their cabinet, which they had just finished ... errr... finishing. It was a bright-ish purple and incredibly glossy, really amazing.

Does anyone remember who it was? I'd like to take another look at his process, but I can't seem to find the listing in the archives.

Thanks to any with better searching skills or memories than I possess.

I think you mean ArcadePC. Don't remember the link, though. Maybe you can find it in the examples page.

It's a shame the pic doesn't load though.. but I'm pretty sure i've seen Yarb back around on the boards lately, so hopefully he'll be responsive to an email/IM to share some pics =P

Good luck!

to get mirror-like shines out of paint, you just gotta invest in time and materials.

Paint, sand, paint, sand, paint, sand, paint, sand, etc, etc...I think he said it was 10 coats? Maybe more?
I can't remember...

The only thing that sucks about a paintjob like that is it must be a real b*@ch to keep fingerprints off the cab...that, and the first chip or scratch you make in it, you want to hang yourself ;)
