Not quite true.  If they haven't switched their theme over to the SMF basic (I think), the person ignoring someone will still see their posts.  I have a few people that I am ignoring but haven't switched themes.  I do it out of principle.

Yes, I know this, but refuse to use it. I actually DO have him on my ignore list, but I still want to see the messages. I use the ignore system as a mark against the person, not for actually ignoring them.

So I'm using the same setup you are.

Strange that ignore is brought up as I have one person ignoring me, but I have no idea why or who it is. Actually, after I posted a reply about this basic thing about a year ago, the number of people ignoring me jumped up to like 4 (then a few days later back down to one), but for the life of me have no idea who added me as an ignore.

Would be kinda neat to find out, as I highly doubt I could have pissed off someone so bad on this forum to actually deserve an ignore... Meh, its prolly just Ginsu marking me.

I have no idea how this system works cos I've never explored it*. Hence, Ginsu, I assumed nothing, and my question was...an actual question about the system. Besides, even if I were asking in regards to a message sent, who says it would've been a message to you?

It is worth mentionning at this point that there are two different mechanisms -- one for ignoring PMs and one for ignoring posts.

For example, I didn't ignore Hemi's posts, but did put him on ignore for PMs because he was getting obnoxious with them.

That's what I gathered, but wanted to know more specifically. I could've tried it out, but sometimes like to ask round to see what people know, too.
