« on: August 31, 2009, 09:35:37 pm »
Does anyone know if it's possible to start AJ8 with a specific database and skip the 5 second loading menu?

if I remember correctly, this application was shareware and need to register (not sure it cost something or just register) to the authour to get rid of the counter. There is a version 9 as well. Its long time ago I tried thus app, before I began my own software (Arcade Music Box example).
Decade Old Work: MultiFE, ArcadeMusicBox
Today Works: Various Spectrum Next games from Rusty Pixels and html5 games.

I don't think the dev ever finished v9 - at least not according to his website.

I was considering Arcade Music Box but I noticed that you had lost the code and I assumed the app was no longer supported.

Arcade Jukebox 8 is darn simple, but is actually very cool for simple jukebox needs. I would also call my own softwarel Arcade Jukebox too, but it was allready taken by this little nice singles based application, so I think I would respect that and change my title of my own software. The only problem with this software is actually these you found, the wait time can been very annoying. I also saw Arcade Jukebox 9. Really nice to see these waittime got removed for a nice older software, which still works as it should. Howover http://www.arcadejukebox.net/ still exists and I think you should ask the author of it.

And yes, no source code = no support. I did found most of it about 1.5 years after I lost it (few thing still missing), but to late to go back it and use BlitzMax now for MultiFE (formely MultiJuke). I did choiced to keep the software on homepage (even arcademusicbox.com got lost, I still have it on spacefractal.com and keept there).

WinCab is also another nice application for singles like this and I remember saw a AJ8 skin for that software.
