Please Help Fix My Rockola 478!!
« on: August 28, 2009, 04:36:07 pm »
Hello everyone, I have a 1978 Rockola Mystic 478, everything was working great on it, I went over to play a song the other day and noticed the 3 credits I had were not displayed.  I opened the unit and attempted to add 1 credit and nothing appeared in the credit screen?  When I turned the unit off and then back on, numbers flashed in both the credit screen and the selection screen, but then instantly shut off.  I can play the music by the test on the record player one by one, but cannot seem to find way the selection and credit screens are not working or the free play credit buttons on the board inside? Its not the screens, the selection is not being and credits are not being found?  Does anyone now what or where I should be looking, everything appears ok by sight, but there is some reason this is not working  and when I turn it on it flashes up but then stops!!  Please help me!!  This was my dream toy for my man town and I was only able to use it for about 2 weeks!!  Thanks Jim ???

Be sure to buy the service manual and look through the troubleshooting section and "sequence of operations".

Do you know any places that sell these manuals?

www.victoryglass.com is THE authorized & licensed source of copyrighted jukebox service manuals. Several years ago Victory Glass bought the entire Rockola factory parts inventory for all the vinyl jukeboxes. They are now the sole source of OEM Rockola vinyl jukebox parts.

Be sure to ask for a hard copy of their jukebox parts catalog.

Hi Jim,

I would post your jukebox problem on www.phonoland.com for advice on Rock Ola jukeboxes Ron Rich is your best bet, I would however read your manual first so you are conversant with the terms used within the manual to aid your dialogue.

I will do that thanks, I believe I have narrowed it down to something in the Profit Setter, don't want to replace that as it is $200 bucks unless I know for sure.
