Is this a suitable controller package for a Jamma Board?
« on: August 21, 2009, 11:00:10 pm »
Hey all.

I am interested in buying this controller package for a jamma board, and while it is listed for pc connections, could I still use it on to a jamma board?

http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/products/megaarcadekit.htm

Thanks.

parts (stick, buttons) is very very weak, china baolian (x-arcade). beeter to buy oryginal iL/SUZO if you wont US/Euro style parts. 135£ not good deal for me it is over 220$ for china crap.
if you want finished jamma wire go to http://www.arcadeshop.de/Connectors-Jamma-Harness-Assembly_301.html quality is very good You only need kickharness and shop have all Ultimarc line PCB/stick/buttons and better thing all butons use terminal connector 4,8mm on ultimarc use 6,4mm not fit on meny prepare jamma wire (use 4,8mm)

half the stuff thats there would be no good for jamm in first place.the harness is no good as you need a jamma loom.then theres a trtackball, well you need a jamma board with trackball support in first place,if the board wont support it then the trackball is no good.

just buy a switching power supply and a jamma harness.you can connect any buttons/sticks you want to it then, the standard loom only supports 2 sticks and 3 buttons per stick.a 1p/2p start.

What exacty is it you ae trying to do with your Jamma board? What board is it?

If you are wiring a cabinet up for Jamma as Saleem said you just need a ps and Jamma harness and you can then use which (better quality) controls you want/require.

If you just want to get the board running on your TV you could get a Supergun.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll leave that crappy kit alone.

The game i want to use is street fighter II world Warrior. As for the supergun, I would love to use one, but the ones I found in a google search do not support 6 buttons, does any know have a link to a uk supplier supergun that supports 6 buttons?

all japan MAK like Sigma, AV7000 and other have 6 buttons
http://www.mak-jp.com/ctrbox.html
http://www.setup-japan.com/sub/contorolbox.htm

I have this from
http://www.tops-game.jp/part/usually/05controlbox_01.htm
50.000Y price is high but many shops sell replaceable panel Blast city for 20.000Y and this MAK have S-video, AV and RGB21 other MAK in japan use only RGB21.
support 6 buttons, connector is from Taito (CB-44) you only need convertor (+kick harness) to standart jamma (price 4.725 Y)

on UE
http://www.neoamusement.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_30&products_id=32
but my friend had problem with neoamusement. it does not command this firm. Ship different game than he ordered, and ship from France do not be insured and many time  Frenchmen (Algerians?) steal at post office - brutal true...

if you need this MAK better to buy in Japan cheap and good service, ship is insured.
