Best software to play albums AND singles?
« on: August 21, 2009, 09:38:49 pm »
I have several hundred full albums of MP3's for my jukebox, but also about 1,000 random singles that I want to be available to the customer also, for which there is no album listed in the ID tags. I've seen some applications that have an on-screen keyboard (apparently made for 'full album' collections only) that you can use to search on artist/album/song title, and other applications that are made for singles-collections only that show a vintage 'wallbox'-type UI.

Can someone recommend a software package that will run both albums AND singles with an onscreen-keyboard-search-interface? That is, I want people to be able to search for tracks in my full-album collection using artist/album/title, but also search for stuff in my collection like The Safety Dance, that I have only as a single, and no one would know the album name anyway.

Admittedly, I have not spent a long time investigating and am looking through different apps now, but if someone could make some suggestions, it would be much appreciated!

http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Jukebox_Software again and again. Howover MultiFE (former MultiJuke)  was designed with extract that in mind when I designed my software because I also have mixed collection like this, includning the search feature. Just make sure 2 create 2 librarys, one for albums and one for singles (which have each thier folder).
Decade Old Work: MultiFE, ArcadeMusicBox
Today Works: Various Spectrum Next games from Rusty Pixels and html5 games.
