Capcom vs SNK???
« on: July 11, 2003, 10:37:51 pm »
I heard that Capcom vs SNK is emulated, but I can't find it. Is it in mame? If not, then what emulator??? I'd really like to get this game working for my machine.

LMAO ! :D
C'mon now....you sure ?
It runs on naomi hardware and will NEVER be emulated(maybe some day).
get a dreamcast and play capcom vs snk all you want just like me.
However the first one sucks with the 4 buttons setup.
2 is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY better.

where heck did you hear about this again ?  ???

Sounded hard for me to believe, too. Maybe it's emulated on console... Someone mentioned it in the thread concerning fighting games going on in software forums.

I think you're talking about the thread someone posted about the upcoming SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos that will be on Neo-Geo hardware (not sure if it's MVS or something new, though).. if they use the old hardware.. well, yeah, it will be emulated :P.. time to break out NeoRAGE X again :D

I mentioned it in that thread since I found it to run with ePSXe emulator (I PMed you Alan).  Anyways, there is the downside like snaaake said of 4 buttons only, but I get by.  Fun game anyway.

Man hate to disappoint you guys but there is a new type of board and a new encryption just read what I posted on Shoryuken.com:

"Ok I went to the SvC: Chaos testing in Winnetka and first asked Trieu if he knew anything about this but he didn't. I then asked one of the other people that were part of the staff, the man named Tony Marquez told me that they are now using a new type of board. It is some new ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, has the cart built onto the board itself. Also the game has a new protection to avoid hacking and ripping. This is it guys, info straight from the source. Thanx.

-See Ya!!!"

Well sorry to disappoint you guys. Thanx.

Meh....not disapointed or anything(okay maybe a little :()
but it will be out for consoles any day now so whatever.I will just get it for ps2 ;D.
I knew there had to be some kind of protection because anything running on actual MVS is emulated easy(they wont let it happen again).
Like kof2002 was emulated with the hacked version of kwack right after the actual arcade release :P.

It won't take long people to probably hack it anyway if there is demand for it and from some emulation forums I have been to, there is.

Capcom vs SNK no....

Yes Naomi has no true emulator. Even the dreamcast emulator does not run full speed yet. Our ports right now are CVS2 for Xbox, PS2 and NCG.

Yes, I heard at E3 that SNKvsCapcom was on new hardware. I figured that it would since playmore is going in a different dirrection than SNK thesedays. They'll probably follow with a quick PS2 port which I'm sure of.... similar to guilty gear X2

I actually play everything. The fact that I worked in the industry might give me a little 411 on what versions are what were when etc...

I actually was big on the Quake scene since I was at Activision during their rise to the FPS market.

Did Activision still have its "Visioneer" external-testing program when you left..??

Back in like 1992 I think, I was recruited off USENET to help them test a game..specifically Interstate 76 (A great game, sadly unplayable on most modern PC's).....then Battlezone (probably one of the best Under-Rated pc games ever).....and a few others.....

I was just curious since you were at Activision, if you knew whatever happened to that program....cuz I had to drop out many years ago after "real life" got in the way ;)

yeah they ran the program for a while.
I knew some people that were running it.
It's part of QA and is a beta program.

It's been 4 years since i've been there so go figure. I could ask some old friends but I don't know how important it is to you.

Yes those were good games that did not do so swell... Battlezone was improperly branded and a successful attempt at a FPS/RTS game... marketing screwed that oneup, not production...

I76 good... I82 bad....
