Moon Cresta Monitor...
« on: August 12, 2009, 01:26:59 am »
Hey all!  After a long hiatus from the arcade world I have recently started getting back into the idea of having a MAME cab...

I just picked up an empty Moon Cresta cocktail for the low low price of free.  It smells like rat pee, but it has a decent looking 13" monitor (haven't tested it yet) and all the controls are in place.  Once I find a coin door for it and build some new control panels I will be in business!  I was planning on using one of those delightful 48-in-1 JAMMA boards for the sake of simplicity...

Anywho...I have been trying to find some info about the monitor that is in this thing and haven't been able to.  I haven't been able to spot a model number on it or anything, just the usual "you will die if you touch this" messages...

it looks to be the original monitor that came with the game...anyone have any ideas what model it is so I can get some info about it?

Also, when I plugged the monitor in and flipped on the power the first time the the neck started glowing (YES!) and there was just some noise on the screen, then after about 10 seconds of that nothing.  No glowing.  Upon turning it off and on again it was the same, nothing.  I let it sit for a while and tried again and got a glowing neck and some noise again.  I'm really hoping I can just throw a cap kit in it and be good...  The board looks fantastic (very clean) and there is no burn in on the cathode...

Thanks!
