groovygamegear.com issues
« on: August 11, 2009, 07:50:15 pm »
Hello!
This is my first post, but I've been lurking for months now and I decided to build a cabinet. I have my building supplies, tools and hardware but my order from groovygamegear.com still hasn't arrived. I have e-mailed them with a question the day I ordered it, no responce. So I sent another e-mail to them today. If I don't get a reply by tomorrow I will be cancelling it and trying the I-pac 4 instead. Are they always this slow/ non responsive? Or am I just being too impatient? I normally wouldn't worry, however my bank notified me that my account had been charged the day after I placed the order, then the day after that the money was back in my account. So it seems that my order hasn't been "Prosessing" at all.

On the other side of things.... am I even going the right way about this anyways? I plan to have a 4 player CP with a trackball. 8 buttons for player 1 and 2, four buttons for players 3 and 4, 3 admin. buttons, 4 player buttons. The I-pac 4 has 56 inputs and it seemed perfect for this, but I wanted to buy U.S.A. so I went for the Key-wiz, and I liked the Shaaazam feature. Anyways thanks for this great site and when I start the build I will have lots of pictures^^

Give them a chance. Have always had great service and great products.   What was the question maybe someone here can help you out.

I placed an order with them a couple months ago and received it promptly.  I asked a question via PM here and by email on their web page before I placed the order and still haven't received a response.

If you can get it from Ultimarc, I would.  I have had nothing but the highest quality service from Andy at Ultimarc.  I hear good things about GroovyGameGear, and I've been happy with the promptness and quality of the order from them, but their communication is the pits right now for some reason.

Strange. I emailed randy at GGG and he got right back to me with good info. Kept me from blowing up my LEDWiz  :-[

Is it possible that their web email interface isn't working?  Did you email directly or via the web interface?  Doesn't really help the situation much that I PM'd on here as well.

I emailed support@groovygamegear.com direct from my email client.

I could kind of understand not getting a quick reply from posting on the forums. He'd have to actually notice the posts. Heck, I'm sure I miss tons of posts here.

Haven't tried their webmail, so I have no idea there.

I didn't just post on a thread on the forum, I sent a PM.  Maybe I'll try again now that I know their support email address.  As far as I could tell from their web page, the only way to contact them was via the email page on their web page.

I sent it straight off thier web site. Hmmmm... I will e-mail them direct then. Strange thing is, my whife used the same one and she got a responce very quickly. (like 20 min)  :dunno

Maybe they went home for the day?

P.S. I'm not upset at them, just a bit confused lol^^

They may have a spam filter that is catching your email by mistake, too.

I ordered a spinner and t-molding from GGG and received everything quickly.  Didn't need to email them though.

I placed my second order on July 29, 2009 and it was shipped out on August 6, 2009.  My first order was placed on June 15, 2009 and shipped June 20, 2009.  So give it around 4-5 days before you receive an email with shipping notice.  Randy has been very prompt in replying my emails and PM's on this board.

I know my Gmail acct gets filtered out sometimes, not from GGG but in general. Worst is applying for jobs and getting my e-mail redirected back :timebomb: (Damn you GameFly!)

I wouldn't imagine that emails submitted on their web form would get filtered since I think the whole point of the web form is to avoid spam.

I'm still wondering how to order the clear buttons with rgb inserts.  Maybe I'll never know. :)

Well, I tried several times to contact them, no response. So I sent another e-mail to cancel my order. I will be looking to get my encoder from Ultimarc. I think the I-pac 4 will do just fine. Now I just hope that GGG actually reads/ gets my e-mail about cancelling the order ><

Can someone who is actually able to get in contact with them consistently forward this thread to them so that they know there is a problem? :)

I hope someone can. All I wanted was a reply. If my order was going to be delayed, or they were out of stock, that's fine. A reply would have been nice. I hope they respond to my last e- mail because I really would have liked to try the key-wiz encoder.

Hopefully they will get back to me soon so I don't have to order from somewhere else.
P.S. Why doesn't an on line store believe in having a customer service telephone number? :banghead:

So, Randy E-mailed me. It seems that they are really busy at the moment, and I ordered the wrong encoder ><.
Because my new PC I will be building will not have a PS/2 port I would have needed to order the GP-wiz anyways.
So if anyone is planning to order from them just be patient I guess^^.
I however will insted order an I-pac 4 as it has a USB port interface. Thanks for everyones quick responce.

P.S. I will be ordering some T-molding and buttons from groovygamegear when I get that far on my build.

I think you might find a I/O card with PS2's on it for a hell of a lot cheaper than re-ordering the I-pac 4.
The I-pac actually has PS2 but comes with a PS2->USB cable if you choose USB interface.

well after reading this post i feel a little less scared but after dealing with groovy game gear trying to get my order working, im still stressed :banghead:.  I want to know whats going on and the phone number i tried (no one picks up) wont work.  I dont use my credit card much and thought it would be wise to put a different shipping address (Due to the fact that stuff left outside my house tends to walk away if your not looking).  I was wrong.  Randy i think is trying to do his best but i... i dont know :badmood:... i guess im just... waiting for something to happen and typing away...

Randy if your out there let me know!  ive got a deadline of less then 18 days!(must be done before that).  My arcade cab will be on display in a local fair (county fair and the biggest of the year) to help advertise my friends wood working business.
