Larger Spinner Knobs, any ideas where to look?
« on: August 11, 2009, 03:48:05 pm »
I have checked out groovygamegear and a few others but the largest I've found tends to be around 2.5" diameter.... I'd like to find a spinner knob with some girth, say around 3-4" diameter. I've contacted manufactures of knobs but have yet to find anything. A comparable spinner would be the one used in Cecropia's "The Act".

Any suggestions??

THanks.

I don't have any sources for larger spinner knobs, but why do you need them - Just for a different "feel" or because the extra weight will keep it spinning longer?  Ultimarc and GroovyGameGear both offer weights to add to the bottom for a smoother, longer spin.

Go talk to a machine shop..... something like that wouldn't take much to wittle one out on a lathe.
Make it out of aluminum or something similar.

Hack a YoYo; I used a cheap plastic one but you could get an aluminum one if you wanted to be fancy:
