Can somebody be a little more specific about the TOXICITY of MDF dust?  I'd like to know how many years I have left to play MAME.

Also - Brax:

Your prophecy of $1k depresses me.  Please keep it to yourself.  My current plan has been to let my receipts fly out the window as I drive home from Home Depot.  My wife asked me if I wanted a special catagory for MAME in Quicken...  this seemed like a bad idea.

MAME in Quicken would be a REALLY bad idea. DON"T DO IT!

There is probably an OSHA document somwhere to explain the hazards of MDF dust.  It is probably only a real hazard to people that work with it all the time.

Inhaling ANY fine dust is not good for your lungs, espsecailly over long periods of time.
Real Life.  Still a poor substitute for video games!

Yes, it is a bad idea.  You are going to need to sell your copy of Quicken to help pay the MAME bills.

I've more then tripled the budget I originally told my wife. Don't add up the receipts, its to depressing. $1k is a good start :)

I'm probably getting close to $1500 after buying all the tools and parts.  Fortunately, I've got enough to make 2 cabs now.

Originally, I had envisioned a few hundred at most.  The cost just keeps climbing.  I look at it as an education expense though.  I've learned a lot about wood working and how to use the various tools.

I suspect, now that I've got the tools and knowledge, it would be a whole heck of a lot cheaper to build a cab now.
