Guncon Repainting
« on: July 29, 2009, 01:49:25 am »
I own six Namco Guncons for PS1 and since they look a lot like Namco's arcade counter parts, I was thinking of repainting the guns to be cotton candy pink and cotton candy blue.  Then assign them to matching controller ports for a bit more 'arcade feel'.  The guns are light grey and somewhat suitable for taking on paint.  The shells open up easily with the removal of the screews and it's really only two pieces to repaint.

I'd like some suggestions on how, what products to use, what to do before hand.  I'm worried about the paint coming off or flaking as they're used and abused in the greasy hands of gamers trying to stop Wild Dog.

You may be better off using some sort of vinyl dye, as any paint is going to get chipped.

How big are the Guncon casings in relation to the arcade originals?  Is it feasible to put the Guncon guts in the arcade shells?
