just wondered if i can wire a strip light from an iluminated exit sign up to my 5v connection on ipac?
if not what should i do?

If you don't mind the fact that it will blow your usb bus and ipac, go right ahead!

You can get a cheap $1 1 or 2 light fixture and use CFL bulbs. I have seen that setup in 2 of my games, and it works wonderfully. You can also buy an $8 18" flourescent light assembly from Wally-world.

Personally, I don't use the CPU power supply to power anything not directly tied to the computer. No point in the risk to the most expensive component in the cabinet.

oh rite ill scrap that idea then lol.
so your saying its best to plug it in seperate? prob wi that is my multi socket strip is inside the machine so i wouldnt be able to to turn it on or off easily. id rather do something that will turn it on when i power the cab up.
im not sure how to go about it tho. maybe theres a usb light strip of some sort out there? my pc is kept in its case so i dont really want to open that up either.

grovy gamer also sells 12inch led light bar for about 18 bucks..

that you can hook up to your PC's power supply safely and is heaps more power efficient, i've not personally used it my self though.

as was pointed out the cheap florescent light fixture works quite well also.

just dont use a incandescent or anything that gets hot.

This is what I use and it works great. I also have one inside for working on the computer.
