J-pac with umk3 having proablems

OK , i got a new video card and its good to go , thanks
first thing ...i got a mortal kombat 3 cabinet and game ... i want to add mame to it ...
I went out and got a J-pac
hook it all up ... hyspins runs good.. now the hard part ...
JAMMA harness through the J-Pac
my umk3 LP,LK,RUN , doesnt work ...
then today .. i went to add wires to the buttons LP,LK,RUN ... when i turn on the arcade and computer it goes nuts .. like its typing buttons , i am not doing it .. what is cause it to do that ...
i run a grd to the j-pac to the LP button..
then 1sw4 to LP ,1sw5 to LK, 1sw6 to RUN , THEN 2sw4 to LP ,2sw5 to LK 2sw6 to RUN ... then grd to the run button ,,,

can someone help me ..

When you wired to your switches are you on the NC or NO contact?   The ground should go to the common and the NO contact goes to the terminal on your jpac.  If you switches seem to be always pressed you maybe on the NC contact.

also, did you remove the wires that went to the kick harness for UMK3?

wire up ONE button at a time, see how that treats ya
