Hi,

Check out the connections above the amplifier compartment. You should see above the volume control connections that there is the following :-

Common (this is a ground on the jukebox) also used for the volume
Cancel

The reject (cancel) button goes across the two connections.

Put a record on and short out the two connections above, if the record rejects then look for open circuits in the wiring back to the reject button.

If the record does not reject then check out the loom from the power supply up to the External connections.

Alan,

I followed your instructions, but,to no avail. What if I simply ran the 2 wires from the cancel switch diectly to the 2 prom plug (orange and black wires) that sits below the tonearm. As you know, this plug connects to the trip switch that puts the records back in the rack when it is done playing.

Thanks,
Tim

Shorting across the "cancel" and "common" terminals on the terminal strip while a record is playing should trigger a cancel function.

Hi Tim,

Have you got the mute plug plugged in? If not plug it in.

Lets assume the mute plug is in.
Ok lets try a test.

Find a length of cable (single core) about 3 to 4 foot long or (metric equivalent if you like)

Put a record on the turntable and put the tonearm upright so it will not reject at the end of the record.

Using the cable put one end on the orange cable (the reject connection on the connector block) put the other end to one of the common connections on the power supply (pins 7,8 and 9 cable colours in the loom pin 8 is black and pin 7 is black/white).
If the record rejects you have a open circuit to the common connection on the connector block.

Ok lets do it the other way round if the above did not work. Put one end of the cable to the common connection on the connector block an put the other end to to the orange black wire (connect 4 on the mute plug) that goes to the mute plug.

If that rejects the record then you have a open circuit on the orange cable that goes to the reject connection on the connection block.

Try it out and let me know the results.
Regards
Alan
