Small Stereo Amp - Pyle Pro PCA1

Anyone use this? Seems like a good alternative to a car stereo amp. Although I wish it had a remote volume "pod" like computer speakers have sometimes...

Switchable support for Europe/USA 230/115V. How 1990!

I would rather have a switch and a transformer then half of the switchmode junk to come out of asia that has parts that violently self disassemble like the $2 cellphone charger that came with a used phone I bought.

Switchmode is all good when done properly, when done on the cheap its a noisy, powerline polluting, highpitched squeel making piece of junk.

Wow tell us how you really feel. Seems like your taking out your opinion on the amp based on some trouble you had with a cheap charger you probably got with your cheap phone. God man nothing is made in the united states any more.

I read over the amp and other than the fact that it is a class d amp it is probably a good deal for a little general purpose amp.

For the price, seems like a good deal to me.

Alternatively, get on Craigslist and just search for any old Stereo amp from more than 5 years ago. I found a technics that the guy just wanted gone. It's actually a 5 channel surround amp, lots of inputs (but no HD, or video, obviously) , paid 10$. It's bigger, for sure, but for that price....

Never said anything about the united states - why bring that up?

Add to that, aftermarket laptop power adaptors with over 2mA of earth leakage, a laptop power adapter that puts so much noise back onto the powerline that a stereo with nothing connected on the same circuit gets noise on it, a ipod speaker dock that has an audible squeal the whole time. And thats just the stuff that I have ended up with.

Got a few external hdd power supplies off a friend that were dropping dead with a bang - the main cap in them was only a 400v one despite being speced to operate on 110-240vac, had all the marks on it to show approval but no way that they would have gotten it with the minimal RFI filtering in them.

Basically unless you trust the supplier of it, switching power supplies are very problematic IMO.

Being a class d is a good thing generally.
