Ipac woes

Finally got my mame cabinet together! woo hoo!   However, I have some problems getting the I-pacs to remember their programming.  I have two, and this is how I programmed them:

I sent IPAC1 to alt, and programmed it plugged in by itself. then I plugged in IPAC2 two by itself and programmed it with a different set of key codes.  I hade the jumpers on both two alt and di NOT connect the coin a on the second to the ground.  Then I daisy used the pass through to hook them both up to the PS2 port.  It seems to work great, untill I reboot.  When the PC loses power, the Ipacs forget what I programmed them to......  any ideas what would cause this?  Do I have to connect the coin a to the ground on the second Ipac?

Stay tuned.  I've been in email contact with Andy Warne and there may be problems with the EEPROM in the newer I-PACs. In fact, I have two I-PACs and the same problems you are seeing -- power off and it forgets its programming.

Yes there is a problem! We seem to have got a suspect batch of EEPROMs. Several boards may have been affected by this. There is a workaround but it needs a code modification.
Anyone who comes across this problem, losing programmed codes after power off/on, please email me and I'll send a fix.
