Robotron 2084 project for sale [US/LA/Kenner]
« on: July 09, 2009, 03:08:02 pm »
I have a Robotron machine that I rescued a few years ago.  I sent the boards off to GLS1 electronics and they are all ready to go.  I picked up new bezel art, cp art, and a new power supply.  The cabinet itself is in good condition with some scratches and dings.  The bottom edge has some chips.  The monitor is untested. Coin door is opened and I don't have a key.  Joystick and buttons are untested though the buttons did light up during initial testing.

I really wanted to restore it, but I just do not have the time or desire to get to it and it is a shame to let it sit there.  So I figured I would see if there's any interest here.  Pick up only.  I'm in Kenner Louisiana.   If you need more details just ask.  I have roughly $250 into it now plus the machine itself.  Name your price and maybe we can work something out.

Dude, that's about restored. To test the monitor, all you got to do is hook up the boards. Don't quit, now.

Dammit all. I'm like, 2 hours from you.

But I'm also broke, so I guess it's moot. :(

But yeah, what Ummon said - you've come this far; why stop now? If you get it working & still don't want it, you can get a lot more for a working Robotron. ;)

Edit: Also, if that's an original Robotron cabinet, if you could get measurements & dimensions, the community would be ever so appreciative. ;)

oh it's original.  You want like specific dimensions? I'll see what I can do.  and yeah... I saw a Robotron for sale for $1450. I just really do not have the time to get into it. That being said if no one is interested I guess I'll just hang on to it. Never know.. I might get inspired one day.

No, they won't be ... while I think that a set of Robo cab plans would be a GoodThing (tm), I've measured 6 (maybe 7) cabs "for the community" and from that we have one incomplete set of plans.

More important than my editorial comments .... here's a bump for a nice-looking project!

Working: Not Enough
Projects: Too Many
Progress: None

I am no where near you but it this the one that forms around the control panel like this:

Or does it look more like this:

The first one is more rare to find. I actually have the first one so if someone wants measurements, then I can do that!

I find that's almost always how it works. :D

Well, *I* would appreciate it! I've wanted to build a replica Robotron for at least a year now, but never could find any measurements or plans.

The first one is more rare to find. I actually have the first one so if someone wants measurements, then I can do that!
