Visual Pinball Key Issues...any idea?
« on: July 03, 2009, 06:16:47 pm »
Hello everyone,

So I have been rapidly adding programs to my cabinet, I put on Future Pinball the other day, and its great.  But a lot of my favorite tables are on Visual Pinball.  So i installed Visual Pinball on my cab and got it running, but I am having an issue, I have set my Keys to the following in Visual Pin:

Left Paddle = 3
Right Paddle = 4
Coin = 5
Start = 1
tilts are = C, left Crtl, and ]

I have also set this up in PinMame by using the Tab menu.

But when I press the paddles, they add coins, it wouldnt be that bad, except that most tables make sounds when you add coins and it gets really annoying.

I have read that Visual Pinball by default uses 1-5 for paddles, coins and stuff.

So my question, how the hell do i change the default values??

Ive tried search but I can find what exactly to do.....and if it helps, im using an X-arcade DIY kit for my panel....

Thanks in advance,
Chad

I thought both Future Pinball and Visual Pinball used the same controls.
Many of these controls are the same keys as in MAME so I wired 2 buttons to the same pin on my IPAC.
Coin = 5 = Same as MAME
Start = 1 = Same as MAME
Left Paddle = Left Shift = P1 button 4 in MAME
Left Tilt = Z = P1 button 5 in MAME
Right Paddle = Right Shift = P3 button 2 in MAME
Right Tilt = /
Center Tilt = Space = P1 button 3 in MAME
Plunger = Enter = P3 button 3 in MAME

Are you implying that it works in Future Pinball, but you had to resort to this odd mapping for Visual Pinball?

Future Pinball works fine. All keys only press what they are suppose to.

but in Visual Pinball w/ PinMame, when i press '3' or '4' which is what the X-arcade default side buttons are, it is the right/left flipper, and it adds coins.

I have changed the Keys in both Visual Pinball, and PinMame, so I am guessing that they are hardcoded in some file and its not changing when I make the changes.
