Williams Hot Tip. Repair or Sell?
« on: June 28, 2009, 08:53:10 pm »
I just picked this machine up from storage. I was given this as a u-haul you keep deal. Been in storage for around 6 years. Prior owner said one of the boards was bad in it. All the connectors were off the cpu and drive board. I attached them all to what I could tell was the correct locations. Tried to verify in manual.Turned it on and after a few moments, smoke started coming from the drive board. I immediately turned it off. Ive tried to contact a few places I googled as to repair and or replacement cost on the drive board. Is this pin worth the price it may cost to repair? I have no ties to this machine. It was free. It would just be nice to have a working pin next to my mame cab. Any thoughts or suggestions?
