Yeah, you make game list(s) with your favorites.  Personally I decided upon about 10 categories and put my favorites into these.  Thus I have about 10 game lists and cycle through these with my joystick.  I have the main game list disabled so only my custom game lists show up.

Me, too, though I imported my mame32 lists.

Is there a way to dynamically add to and remove from a favorites list? Mala can do that with a single button push, can't it? Can it do that if I'm using trees?

The way I've got MALA setup (and I believe this is standard), Player 2 start will pop up a menu in mala that allows you to add or remove games from any of the lists you've already defined.

You have to use the mouse menus to actually create new lists though, i believe.

Which means I can create a blank list called "favorites" and then just add to and from it. I'll have to test that out when I plug my controls back in, they're out right now so I can do some decorative work on the cabinet.

Thats how i did it, right click mouse on mala frontpage and select options, go to gamelists and create one called favourites. Then all you do is press player 2 start button-game list- add selected game-favourites.
