FCE Ultra and Mamewah
« on: June 19, 2009, 12:53:36 pm »
I'm sure everyone is getting board of my posts, but posting usually gives me some ideas that usually shave off an hour or two of frustration! :banghead:

I have read many threads on this subject, but I couldn't find any that quite fit my problem.

I am using Mamewah 1.67 and I currently am using FCEU-MM for NES. I am having the same issues with my Colecovision EMU.

Mamewah finds the Roms for either the NES or Colecovision, but I can not start the games. I have mapped the buttons to match the conventional Mamewah CP and still can not get the games to start. If I flip over to Mame, everything runs fine.

I copied the Mame.ini file and made the needed adjustments to run the NES and Colecovision EMU's, seems like I am 75-85% there. I am using FCE since I have read in many places it works well with wah, not so sure about the Colecovision EMU. Oh, no, the FCE I am using is not the ESC key version.

Any help is always appreciated!

Thank you.

Eric

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Did you point FCE Ultra to your rom directory, not just Mamewah?

Also, do you have the ini for your emu in mamewah set to look for roms by "rom directory" or whatever the wording is?

Also, is the file extension it's looking for set to the correct one?

I believe so.

Also, do you have the ini for your emu in mamewah set to look for roms by "rom directory" or whatever the wording is?

I think so.

Yes.

Back in front of the EMU, still nothing for NES. Even when I run off FCEU.exe I cant use select right. I missed something.

Went back into the .ini file for fce and started over, got the thing to start.

Couple funky things. I'll try to get screen shots and hopefully I can get the errors fixed.

First one: The windows "frame" does not disappear. I think this should, how do you get rid of it?

Second one: In wah, pick the ROM, error comes up: error opening "verifyroms"! I hit enter key to clear error, esc key and the rom begins and the game can be played.

Again, I will try to get screen shots.

Thanks.

Not sure about running Coleco, but for NES I use FCEU with our Mamewah setup.

From reading your posts it seems you are having a load of trouble when first getting certain emulators to run with Mamewah, as I did. If you like, I can send you our .ini files for over 15 platforms, including the correct emu settings for each.

That would be great, that would get me a good starting point.  :notworthy:

As you can tell, I am starting from scratch on almost every emu with Mamewah and obviously if it isn't perfect, there are issues.

I am getting better, almost have the Mame side of business set!
